Senior NDU student Joe Ghanem wins the Byblos Bank Award for Photography
The NDU photography program is thrilled to announce that the Byblos Bank Award for photography for the year 2017 was bestowed to one of its very own students for the third year in a row.
On September 24, 2017, following the footsteps of previous photography students and winners Carmen Yahchouchy and Elsn Lahoud, Joe Ghanem collected the Byblos Bank Award, one of the most prestigious prizes in Lebanon for photography.
Competing against 9 other enthusiasts, Ghanem, with his project shedding light on the elderly of Lebanon which he describes as witnesses of time, managed to win the hearts of the jury members and to go home with a trophy and an award that promises him a solo exhibition in April of the upcoming year 2018.
Winning a national award for the third time in a row is nothing but an acknowledgment that the photography program is successful and on the right track.
